London Buses route 390 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Archway station and Notting Hill Gate, it is operated by Metroline. ==History== Route 390 commenced on 1 February 2003, initially operating between Archway station and Marble Arch. It was formed when route 10 running from Archway to Hammersmith bus station was split in two as part of service enhancements in connection with the introduction of the London congestion charge. It was operated by AEC Routemasters from Holloway garage. Upon being re-tendered, the route was retained by Metroline with a commitment to replace the AEC Routemasters in line with Transport for London policy.〔(Bus tender results Route 390/N390 ) Transport for London 12 February 2004〕 On 4 September 2004 Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs took over the route with it becoming a 24-hour service.〔〔(Routemaster cull on three routes ) ''BBC News'' 3 September 2004〕 On 6 November 2004 the route was extended from Marble Arch to Notting Hill Gate replacing route 12.〔(Routemaster numbers to fall below 200 ) ''London Evening Standard'' 5 November 2004〕 On 7 December 2013 route 390 reverted to crewed operation with New Routemasters.〔(Two more ''sinous beauty'' bus routes ) ''Bus & Coach Professional'' 12 August 2013〕〔(Route 9 gets new 'Boris bus ) ''ITV News'' 21 October 2013〕〔(Route 390 to be served by New Routemasters ) Transport for London 5 December 2013〕
